Radu Serban

Radu Serban’s professional career has earned him a distinguished reputation throughout the architectural community for his design excellence. While working with a number of renowned New York architectural firms, Mr. Serban was responsible for conception to completion of many major architectural projects, both in the United States and abroad. Capitalizing on his previous European background and training, he has been involved in the design and management of almost every major building type, including multi-use buildings, academic libraries, university research facilities, commercial, educational and civic complexes, residential apartment buildings, and college dormitories. He has particular expertise in the complexities of high-rise and multi-use buildings. As a Principal in Obelisk Architectural Consultants, he is committed to excellence and brings to the firm his vast experience to the esthetic and financial benefits of their clients.

As former Associate Partner and the Director of International Projects for Costas Kondylis and Partners (CKP), Mr. Serban helped build the firm’s International Design Division. He was involved in a variety of international master planning projects, and is also credited with the design of several multiuse, large scale residential buildings.

Prior to working for CKP, Mr. Serban was a principal of the New York firm, Ismael Leyva Architects (ILA). Mr. Serban managed a number of outstanding projects such as The Time Warner Center and made substantial contributions to the success of the firm. He was in charge with the residential architectural consultancy for the joint ventures with Gehry Partners, Skidmore Owings and Merrill, Robert A.M. Stern Architects, Gwathmey Siegel & Associates Architects, and Polshek Partnership Architects, to name a few.

While with the renowned design firm of Davis, Brody, Bond, LLP, Mr. Serban was a Senior Associate. He brought with him his considerable design and management skills and contributed his talent to many research, academic and residential buildings.

During his time with Warner, Burns, Toan and Lunde Architects and Planners, Mr. Serban worked as a senior designer/project architect on hotel projects in Colombia, Ethiopia, Cameroun, Cyprus, Argentina, as well as on libraries and residential projects.
